Threads, a reincarnation fantasy, opens with the death of Anne Boleyn, whose execution appears upon first sight to have resulted from her inability to produce a son for the king. As Anne reviews her life, and several previous lifetimes, she learns about the true depth of her relationship with Henry VIII.
