Overnight, the fevered freedom-loving democracy quickly descended into a totalitarian police state, now referred to as the Nation. Now today, in 2267, it is a time of summery prosperity. The Nation is at the height of its self-glorified power. As the last remaining mark of civilization upon the face of the earth, the light of truth has become warped, distorted. Cast out in favor of a manufactured, interconnected web of false, ever-changing histories. The factual history is lost as a new one is constantly being ministered by a small handful of clandestine and secretive caretakers. Living here at this point, Jion (John) Wurnars works as a seemingly low-class nonentity, with a dead-end job towards a bleak and desolate life.
